A little dated and some wear and tear, but still nice to have a 2 bed, 2 bath, kitchen, washer, dryer and garage. It's nice you can walk right off the resort onto the trails. It's just enough on the edge of town to be quiet, but still close enough to all the stores and restaurants. Heard it's going to become an Eddie Bauer adventure resort. The time share people still hound you, but just say NO!
I stayed at the Desert Arroyo recently with my in-laws. The pool and the jacuzzi were a hit for my family. I noticed workers in the area working on some townhouses. I hope during the renovation they put in the higher height toilets and more towel racks.
I stayed several times and never experienced any issues as described by other reviewers. The place was exceptionally clean with no issues, nothing in disrepair and a great pool area in addition to a nice workout area. Grills were available with cooking by gas, 2 pools one fresh water and one salt and two hot tubs with lifts for people that are disabled. The trails behind the complex were great for hiking. We felt like home even having a remote for our personal garage with a washer/dryer. I thoroughly recommend this location. If there was a unit issued that was in poor condition and unclean, I would have requested to be moved into another unit since the desk is open 24 hours. I am arriving to use a unit for a few overnight stays 11/2016

My family of six has stayed at this resort each April for the past five years. During that time period, there have definitely been constant improvements, but I have to admit I have never encountered anything like the reviewer that found the accommodations so awful that they left the next morning?! Yes, the sleeper sofas are not that comfortable, there were a few stains on a few of the dining room chairs, but otherwise, everything is extremely comfortable, extremely clean, and the decor has been updated in each of the five units we have stayed in (two bedroom units and three bedroom units). I love the peacefulness of this resort, the 17,000 acres of hiking that is right outside any door of the property, and the comfortableness and well-equipped units. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly, highly recommend this resort. However, if you are looking for resort-directed activities, this is not the place for you. Lots to do around the resort, but the resort it QUIET. Yet we have a 5 year old and a 14 year old and they both really enjoy this resort.
We had a wonderful stay. The property is beautiful, our room was very nice and the staff was extremely helpful.
Stained chair, dip in bed, blinds had been rigged instead of properly replaced. Other blinds did not work. Kinda went downhill since the last time we were there.
